Posting
The moment a journal entry becomes part of your books and starts affecting reports.
In Solo Superstars
Most things post automatically at a clear moment: an invoice when you send it, a bill when you mark it received, a bank transaction when it is categorized. Drafts do not post; they are just saved forms.
Posting is blocked for any date on or before a period lock. That is the whole point of closing a month.
Example
An invoice saved as a draft on the 3rd and sent on the 5th posts on the 5th. Its revenue appears in reports from the 5th, not the 3rd.

- Period lock — The date on or before which no entry can be posted. Set by a close; lifted only by reopening the latest period.
