2000 Accounts Payable (A/P)

Money you owe vendors for bills you have received but not yet paid. A liability until the money leaves your bank.

In Solo Superstars

Marking a bill received credits this account; paying it debits it. Quick expenses skip it entirely because they are already paid.

Example

Receive a $600 bill: debit 6100 Legal & Professional Services 600, credit 2000 600. Pay it: debit 2000 600, credit 1010 600.

Codes shown are the defaults a new workspace starts with. Yours may be renamed or renumbered — check Accounting › Chart of accounts. See the full default chart.
