Journal line
One row of a journal entry: an account, a debit or credit amount, and an optional memo.
In Solo Superstars
Every journal entry has at least two lines. The General ledger page is simply all journal lines regrouped by account, which is why any report figure can be traced back to the exact lines that built it.
Example
A $1,000 invoice with 8% sales tax posts three lines: debit 1100 Accounts Receivable 1,080; credit 4000 Sales of Product Income 1,000; credit 2200 Sales Tax Payable 80.
Codes shown are the defaults a new workspace starts with. Yours may be renamed or renumbered — check Accounting › Chart of accounts. See the full default chart.
