Open Reports › General ledger, pick an account and a range. Each line shows date, source, memo, debit or credit and running balance. Clicking a figure on any other report lands here.

Codes shown are the defaults a new workspace starts with. Yours may be renamed or renumbered — check Accounting › Chart of accounts. See the full default chart.

Related

  • Journal line — One row of a journal entry: an account, a debit or credit amount, and an optional memo.
  • Trial balance — A list of every ledger account with its debit or credit total for a date range. The two grand totals must match.
  • Ledger account — One row in the chart of accounts, such as Bank Charges. Not to be confused with a bank account, which is a real place money lives.
  • Audit trail — The rule that nothing posted is ever edited or deleted. Corrections are new entries that reverse the old one, so both stay visible forever.
