Fiscal period
A month or a year of your books that can be closed and locked as a unit.
In Solo Superstars
The Close page works one month at a time; the year-end close works on the whole fiscal year. Each closed period records the date it is closed through and who closed it.
Example
Closing August 2026 locks every entry dated August 31 or earlier. September stays open.

- Fiscal year — The twelve months your books are measured over. Most solo businesses use the calendar year.
- Monthly close — Declaring a month finished: everything categorized, statements reconciled, then locked so nothing older can change.
- Period lock — The date on or before which no entry can be posted. Set by a close; lifted only by reopening the latest period.
