Balanced entry

A journal entry whose debits equal its credits. The database refuses to save one that does not, so your books cannot drift out of balance.

In Solo Superstars

The check runs inside the database itself, not in the app code. If a bug ever tried to write an unbalanced entry, the whole save would fail loudly rather than leave a bad number in your balance sheet.

You will only notice it on the manual journal entry form, where the Post button stays disabled until the two totals match.

Example

Debits 1,080 and credits 1,080: saved. Debits 1,080 and credits 1,000: rejected, with nothing written.

Codes shown are the defaults a new workspace starts with. Yours may be renamed or renumbered — check Accounting › Chart of accounts. See the full default chart.
