Alison

The accounting teammate. Categorizes bank transactions, drafts journal entries, watches for anomalies, and asks for approval before anything that moves money.

In Solo Superstars

She works in the background on every import and shows up in your inbox and in the Ask Alison chat. What she does alone versus proposes is governed by confidence and by what the action is: categorizing a routine charge is automatic; changing a bill’s status or anything that moves money waits for you.

Example

After a July import: 38 lines categorized automatically, 4 sent to review with a suggestion each, one "month is ready to close" item.

Codes shown are the defaults a new workspace starts with. Yours may be renamed or renumbered — check Accounting › Chart of accounts. See the full default chart.

Related

  • Approval — A change Alison has prepared but will not apply until you say yes. Approving posts it; rejecting discards it and she remembers why.
  • Categorize — Telling a bank transaction which ledger account it belongs to. Alison does most of it; you confirm the uncertain ones.
  • Learning memory — What Alison has learned from your corrections: which payee goes where, which splits you prefer. You can read and delete it.
  • Financial Watch — Alison’s standing check for unusual activity: a vendor charging twice, an expense far above its baseline, a deposit that never cleared.
  • Tax Watch — Alison’s book-based tax warnings: a 1099 threshold crossed, sales tax collected in a state you have not set up, a quarterly date approaching.
  • Autonomy rate — The share of bookkeeping actions Alison originated (auto-applied or proposed and approved) versus entered by hand. A supporting measure of how much work she carries.
