Journal entry date

The accounting date that determines which ledger period a journal entry affects.

In Solo Superstars

Where it is used: It appears on Accounting › Journal entries and is checked against the Books start date and period lock. Created-at time records when it was entered instead.

Example

An opening entry entered in September can carry a January 1 journal-entry date and therefore belong to January books.

Codes shown are the defaults a new workspace starts with. Yours may be renamed or renumbered — check Accounting › Chart of accounts. See the full default chart.
