6500 Depreciation Expense

The share of a fixed asset’s cost charged to this period. Booked by the depreciation run, never by hand.

In Solo Superstars

The year-end close (or a manual run on the Fixed assets page) posts one entry per asset here, with the other side in Accumulated Depreciation.

Example

Annual depreciation on a $2,400 desk over 5 years: debit 6500 480, credit 1590 480.

Codes shown are the defaults a new workspace starts with. Yours may be renamed or renumbered — check Accounting › Chart of accounts. See the full default chart.
