Information return

A form that reports payments or other tax facts to a tax authority and recipient without calculating the business income-tax return.

In Solo Superstars

The information-returns workstream covers recipient identity, reportable payment totals, forms and delivery or filing evidence separately from income-tax preparation.

Example

Form 1099-NEC reports nonemployee compensation; it is prepared and filed separately from the business income-tax return.

Codes shown are the defaults a new workspace starts with. Yours may be renamed or renumbered — check Accounting › Chart of accounts. See the full default chart.
